Music Festival Ad Campaign

The objective was to create an advertising campaign for “Let’s Get Groovy,” a lively, 3-day music festival filled with live music and dancing. The challenge was to infuse the campaign with the same high-energy vibe as the festival itself. Since the event targets a younger crowd, I made sure the design spoke to them by using bold, vibrant colors, funky typefaces, and lively, stylized illustrations. The goal was to capture the festival’s spirit and create a visual experience that felt just as exciting as the event itself.

The central imagery in this campaign features four musically-themed illustrations— a bold bass speaker, a dynamic drum set, a piano, and drums. These illustrations are striking and eye-catching, connecting seamlessly with rainbow swirls to symbolize sound and movement. Each piece carries an unstructured, playful feel to resonate with the younger audience. The typeface for “Let’s Get Groovy” is quirky and decorative, embodying a sense of fun and lightheartedness, while the tagline and event details use a sleek serif style for contrast, ensuring clarity and easy readability. The illustrations are designed in a paper cutout style, which adds texture and depth to the visuals. This approach was chosen to evoke a sense of creativity and handcrafted authenticity, appealing to the audience’s appreciation for individuality and artistic expression. The playful, layered look of the paper cutout style brings a dynamic, tactile feel to the designs, reinforcing the festival's energetic and vibrant atmosphere.

I wanted to mirror the kind of colors and tone people would expect at a music festival—vivacious, bold, and bright. Therefore, the unifying factor in each campaign piece is a rainbow swirl that mirrors the shapes of floating sound waves. The sound waves create movement and flow to otherwise static instruments on a page.
