calvert stewardship report

For this project, the objective was to design Calvert’s annual Stewardship Report. This report is a 20+ page publication highlighting ESG engagement, proxy voting, and shareholder advocacy—intended for institutional investors and stakeholders.

As the sole designer, I collaborated closely with Calvert’s executive team and a dedicated writer to create a report that transformed dense data into digestible, visually compelling spreads. The final piece integrates custom infographics, bold environmental photography, and a clear layout structure to communicate transparency, accountability, and impact—hallmarks of Calvert’s mission. The report was published on Calvert’s website and serves as a key touchpoint for investor engagement.

Color played a key role in reinforcing themes: a cool, stable palette of blues and teals grounds the report in professionalism, while subtle greens and imagery of diverse landscapes nod to Calvert’s environmental focus. Full-bleed photography and macro textures were used intentionally to break up data-heavy sections and add emotional resonance. The result is a thoughtful, well-structured piece that mirrors Calvert’s commitment to transparency, advocacy, and impact.

The visual strategy for this report centered on clarity, trust, and environmental stewardship. I built a clean, accessible grid system to support dense financial and ESG data, using hierarchy and white space to guide the reader through complex content without overwhelming them. Custom charts and infographics distill proxy voting trends and shareholder engagement metrics into visually digestible formats, balancing precision with readability. Each element was chosen to reflect Calvert’s values, grounded in transparency, purpose, and empathy.
